A group of women recently staged a protest outside the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo in Caracas demanding the return of Henri Matisse’s “Odalisque in Red Trousers” (1925) and dressed in the same manner as the woman in the painting — topless in red shorts. The painting, which was recovered by the FBI in Miami Beach last month after having been replaced my a fake at the Venezuelan museum more than 10 years ago, has yet to be returned to the institution.
